There is no single reliable price for “marble per square foot.” Two pieces sold under a similar trade name may differ in grade, thickness, dimensions and visual consistency. The cost to get stone installed can also differ from the material-only figure.
The main quote variables
- Stone and grade: selection, visible defects, color consistency and the exact slab.
- Form and dimensions: slab, tile, stair piece or custom cut size; thickness affects material and handling.
- Finish and fabrication: polishing, edge work, cut-outs, skirting or step nosing.
- Quantity and wastage: room shape, pattern matching and breakage allowance.
- Delivery and installation: distance, access and whether labor and consumables are included.
How to compare quotations fairly
Ask every supplier to state the material name, actual slab or grade, unit, quantity, thickness, finish, fabrication, transport, taxes and installation scope.
