Describe the room before naming a stone
Write down where the marble will go, what surrounds it and how the space is used. A dark border and a full room of dark stone have very different visual effects. Bring wall, cabinet or fabric samples if those decisions are already made.
Reduce the shortlist
Choose two or three visual directions from the catalog. Compare a pale option such as Ziarat White, a grey option such as Sunny Grey or a warm option such as China Verona. Keep the names with the photos when you enquire.
Inspect the actual material
View the current slabs or pieces in suitable light. Ask how visible marks, repairs, filling and variation will appear in the supplied finish. Agree which material is being selected before fabrication; an image on a screen cannot stand in for this step.
Confirm finish and layout
Ask to see the intended finish on a sample. Discuss joints, borders, pattern direction and edge details with the installer. For wet or heavily used areas, ask for an assessment of the exact material and finish rather than judging from appearance.
